Inside Pebble Beach: How We Built Our Most Popular CaddyTips® Download

Pebble Beach Golf Links is the course that put CaddyTips® on the map.

Not because it was the first guide we ever created. Not because it was the most difficult. And not because it was the most famous. The Pebble Beach guide became our most popular download because it perfectly represents what CaddyTips® is all about: local course knowledge that helps golfers play smarter, avoid costly mistakes, and enjoy their round more.

But creating a great Pebble Beach guide wasn't as simple as gathering yardages and writing a few notes.

To build a guide worthy of one of the world's most iconic golf courses, we needed something much more valuable than a scorecard.

We needed a caddie.

Why Pebble Beach Is Different

Most golfers arrive at Pebble Beach knowing a few famous holes.

They know about the par-3 7th.

They know about the breathtaking tee shot on 8.

They know about the finishing stretch along Carmel Bay.

What many golfers don't realize is that Pebble Beach is filled with subtle decisions that never appear on a yardage book.

Where is the ideal side of the fairway?

Which pins should be attacked?

Where should a player intentionally miss?

When does the ocean wind affect the shot more than the yardage?

These are the details that separate a good round from a frustrating one.

Those details are also difficult to discover without local knowledge.

Finding the Right Source

Every CaddyTips® guide starts with a source.

For Pebble Beach, we partnered with a veteran local caddie who has spent years walking the fairways alongside golfers from around the world.

His experience extended far beyond reading putts and carrying a bag.

He understood how average golfers actually play the course.

He knew which holes consistently create big numbers.

He knew where visitors become overly aggressive.

Most importantly, he knew the shortcuts.

Not shortcuts around the course—but shortcuts to better decision-making.

The kind of advice golfers usually don't learn until after they have already played Pebble Beach several times.

Turning Local Knowledge Into Actionable Advice

Once we gathered the raw information, the real work began.

A caddie naturally thinks and communicates differently than a golfer reading a digital guide.

Our job was to translate decades of local experience into concise, easy-to-follow recommendations.

Every hole was broken down shot by shot.

We discussed preferred targets, safe misses, green complexes, wind patterns, and strategic options for golfers of different skill levels.

Then we refined everything into a format that could be quickly referenced before and during a round.

The goal wasn't to overwhelm golfers with information.

The goal was to help them make better decisions.

The CaddyTips® Difference

There are plenty of course guides available today.

Many focus on yardages.

Others focus on maps.

Some simply repeat information already found on the scorecard.

CaddyTips® focuses on strategy.

Our guides answer questions that golfers actually ask themselves standing over the ball.

Can I attack this pin?

Where is the trouble?

What club should I hit from this position?

What's the smartest play here?

Pebble Beach became our most popular guide because golfers immediately recognized the difference.

The information felt personal.

It felt local.

It felt like having a caddie in your pocket.

Looking Ahead

The success of our Pebble Beach guide helped shape the future of CaddyTips®.

Today, we continue to work with experienced caddies, local experts, and golf insiders to create detailed strategy guides for courses across the country.

Every guide follows the same philosophy:

Start with authentic local knowledge.

Refine it into practical advice.

Help golfers shoot lower scores.

Pebble Beach may have been our most popular download, but it remains our best reminder of why CaddyTips® exists in the first place.

Because sometimes the most valuable information on a golf course isn't found on the scorecard.

It's found in the mind of the caddie who's walked those fairways thousands of times.
