Tee Shot
Prior to your round, take a glimpse at the pin positions and green complexes of the 9th and 18th holes, which are near the first tee. This visual will help you approach these greens. Because the prevailing spring and summer winds on the central Oregon coast blow powerfully out of the north/northwest, players almost always receive a major boost from a tailing breeze right on the opening tee box. The easiest tee shot of the round, but cool morning air still flies short, so don't leave the approach short. Low handicaps: a 3-wood or long iron to the fat of the fairway will help avoid a massive pond left; a wedge in. Mid/High handicaps: a fairway wood for the short grass will get you off to a good start on an short, fast tee shot. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
