Hole 1 - GENTLE START
Favor the left and mind the hump

Par 4 - 386 / 352 / 332 / 293 yds.

Tee Shot
Prepare for a golf journey of a lifetime, and when we say prepare, we mean, make sure you have plenty of towels, an umbrella, rain wear and even hand warmers. The conditions at Bandon Dunes can be brutal. It can be a test of survival, so be patient and navigate the conditions as best as you can.  The first hole will play directly into the wind. CaddyTips® recommends teeing your ball a bit lower to flight it into the wind. This opening hole eases you into the round, but keep your focus up by picking a very specific target and taking dead aim. Favor the left side of the fairway for the best approach angle into the green that is protected by a huge hump in the left portion of the green. Beware of the slightly hidden fairway bunker on the left-hand side that will catch a well-struck drive without much wind. There is a semi-hidden fairway bunker right that catches a stray drive. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
