Here is a snippet from the Ocean Dunes CaddyTips®
Hole 1 - A FAIR LINKS START
337 onto the firm sand base
Par 4 - 337 / 295 / 240 yds.
Tee Shot
Prior to your round, take a glimpse at the pin positions and green complexes of the 9th and 18th holes, which are near the first tee. This visual will help you approach these greens. The Seasonal Wind Pattern: From April through October, the prevailing coastal winds blow heavily from the north/northwest. Because Ocean Dunes' opening hole heads straight in that northerly direction, golfers must battle a stiff headwind right out of the gate. All players: Robinson's rule from the first tee — drive to the widest part of the fairway, even if it looks short; firm sand adds run, so plan the landing, not the carry distance. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
