Hole 1 - Right-center Opener
Slightly elevated green — favor the right
Par 4 - 432 / 410 / 380 yds.

Tee Shot
Welcome to the Napa Valley's premier golf course, which has hosted the PGA Tour and Champions Tour countless times. Keep your eyes peeled for Johnny Miller, who frequently hangs out here and has helped reconstruct both courses.

Ideal target: FAVOR THE RIGHT side of the fairway on this medium-length opener. This tee shot will play downhill but should not affect club selection and neither should the wind. An accurate drive leaves a mid-iron approach to a slightly elevated green. Where to miss: right-center, in the fairway. Avoid: any pull into the left trees. Pro tip: Silverado's small greens demand precise iron play from the start — get into rhythm here on the first hole, the course only gets more challenging. Low handicap: driver right-center for a short iron approach. Mid handicap: 3-wood right-center for a fairway finder. High handicap: 5/7 wood or hybrid right-center — let's hit the fairway and accept the longer second. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
