Tee Shot
Get your day started with a strategic play and swing by the 9th and 18th greens to check out their design and note the pin placement. This will give you a better visualization of these approach shots and set you up for success on these key holes.

Ron Garl, prolific Florida course architect, starts you off with the #15 handicap hole, but don't let your guard down early. Three bunkers guard the left rough, and the fairway slopes left-to-right towards a ditch surrounded by trees on the right. The target is left-center of the fairway, as the slope in the landing area will release the shot to the right. In Lakeland, the prevailing wind typically blows from the East/Southeast and should act as a helping left-to-right crosswind.

Low handicap: long hitters will run out of room here with driver, and a shot slightly offline can veer towards OB stakes that are set very closely to the golf course border. The wiser play is to hit a fairway wood, hybrid, or long iron to the wide landing area and make birdie with wedge and putter. Mid-High handicap: length is not an issue on this short hole, so select a club that will have the highest likelihood of finding the fairway and start off with a confidence builder.
