HOLE 1 - Away
An honest handshake to start

Par 4   405 / 391 yds.

Tee Shot
As you are walking to the 1st tee, CaddyTips® recommends taking a look at the 18th green and the pin placement. This will set you up for a good visualization for your final approach shot of the day.

A straightforward par 4 to settle in — Coore & Crenshaw starts you honestly. Ideal placement for the tee shot is LEFT CENTER, which will take the right fairway bunker (235 from the Black) out of play and avoid the contoured mounds in the middle of the fairway. A tee shot of 250 from the Black / 220 from the Gold plays perfectly, leaving a flat look in. Long hitters: there is nothing to chase here — left-center with a 3-wood is the play. Mid/high handicap: favor left center to avoid the central mounds, a clean middle-of-the-fairway start sets the tone, so tee off with your most confident club. A good target to focus on is the Cottonwood line down the left that frames the corridor.

During Spring/Summer, the predominant wind blows W/SW, acting as a left-to-right influence. In Fall/Winter, the prevailing wind shifts to E/NE, causing the hole to play into the wind.
