HOLE 1 - The Handshake
A gentle start — take the par and move on

Par 4  -  393 / 356 / 327 yds.

Tee Shot
Welcome to the home of the UofA Wildcats, where this unique routing has the 5th and 18th holes serve as the hub to the clubhouse. So, make sure to roll by them and check out the green complexes and the pins placements. This will help you visualize good approach shots on these holes.

Then head to the first tee where Robert Trent Jones Jr. eases you into this true desert layout. Aim straight down the center and split this fairway in two. One bunker right of the fairway sits 265 Black (230 Blue / 200 White). This is an undulating fairway, so don't be surprised to see your ball bounce around a bit. The winds here at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains shift throughout the day. The prevailing winds should play downwind in the morning and into the wind in the afternoon. The course sits at 2,500+ ft in elevation, so you can expect the ball to carry a bit more out here.
