HOLE 1 - The Opening Dogleg
Threaded between two deep traps

Par 4  -  411 / 395 / 375 yds.

Tee Shot
Allow yourself a bit of time to get to the first tee, as it's a couple of hundred yards away from the range and pro shop. The 18th hole does not finish near the clubhouse, either, which is unique.

Deep fairway bunkers LEFT and RIGHT make placement in the CENTER of the fairway critical. The LEFT trap is 240 Black / 230 Blue / 210 White and spans 20+ yds. to carry; the RIGHT trap is 233 / 218 / 197. All players: this is a pure position opener as these fairway bunkers can be very penal. Long hitters: only driver if you can fly the right trap easily; otherwise, a 3-wood splits them. Mid/high handicap: a fairway wood or hybrid short of both bunkers leaves a mid-iron and a stress-free start.

There are varying accounts on the wind, and the general consensus is that there is no true prevailing wind, so you'll just play with what you get. Before you tee off, you can check the practice flags on the driving range.
