Here is a snippet from the Gold Canyon Dinosaur Mountain CaddyTips®
HOLE 1 - Up the Hill to Start
Short but well-defended — not the pushover it looks
Par 4 316 / 305 / 300 yds.
Tee Shot
CaddyTips® recommends walking past the 18th green to check the pin placement on your way to the 1st tee. This will give you a good visualization for your final approach shot of the day. The 9th hole does not finish near the clubhouse, so you will not be able to spy on that green.
This short, uphill par 4 asks for a placed tee shot to
the RIGHT-CENTER of the fairway. Left fairway bunker sits 235 Gold (225 Black, 220 Blue). The wind on this property tends to swirl at the base of the mountain, but the prevailing winds normally make this hole play into the wind. CaddyTips® recommends teeing the ball a bit lower into the wind to help flight the ball. The course also sits at 2,300 feet elevation, which will help boost your shots.
All players: there is room over the small mountain in the right fairway, which narrows as the hole progresses. Mid/high handicap: a fairway wood or hybrid to the right-center is plenty; this opener rewards position, not distance.
