Hawk's Landing rewards precision, discipline, and smart decision-making far more than raw distance. Built from years of local caddy experience, this guide teaches you how to navigate the course's strategic landing areas, ever-present water hazards, deceptive visual intimidation, and fast Diamond Zoysia greens.
Enhanced by AI
At Hawk's Landing, the straight shot almost always beats the long one. This guide combines years of local caddy knowledge to help you understand where to position every tee shot, when to leave the driver in the bag, how Orlando's winds influence club selection, and where the safest misses are throughout the course.

Tee Shot
Get a strategic head start by checking out the 9th and 18th greens located behind the main resort and clubhouse to scope out the green layouts and pin placements. This will help you visualize your approach shots and set you up for success.
Don't be intimidated by the lake that runs the entire left side of the first hole. There is a lot of water on this golf course, and these tips are going to help you take the lakes out of play. To promote a right-side of the fairway target, CaddyTips® recommends that you tee it up on the far left side of the tee box, which will give you the highest percentage target line.
Low handicap: You can aggressively bomb it up the right-hand side with driver, but no need to overswing and cook it. Mid-high handicap: Driver is not necessary here, so select a club that will not go left on you. With a fairway wood or hybrid, you can swing freely and not guide it because the backspin will outweigh any side spin.
