Here is a snippet from the Cork Golf Club CaddyTips®

Hole 1 - UPHILL
Tree-lined and well-bunkered

Par 4 - 373 / 368/ 362 yds.

Tee Shot
Before you head to the first tee, CaddyTips® recommends checking out the hole location and green complexes on the 9th and 18th holes, which are near the clubhouse. The prevailing winds in Wallingstown, Ireland, are southwesterly, so this hole will likely play into the wind or left-to-right wind.  Target is center to right center fairway on this shorter, but uphill opening hole. Several bunkers cross the fairway 250 m. from the back tees (245 m. white). Long hitters will likely want to hit a long iron or fairway wood to remain short of the
traps. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
