Here is a snippet from the Industry Hills Eisenhower Course CaddyTips®
Hole 1 - Signature Hole • Spacious
Large fairway target to start. Lights...camera...action!
Par 5 - 534 / 506 / 479 yds.
Tee Shot
Many a movie and TV show have been shot on this hole being that it is so close to Hollywood, so you might recognize it. Spacious hole to begin, so focus on a very specific target to keep your focus and accuracy tight to start. The prevailing afternoon breeze in the San Gabriel Valley/City of Industry area typically blows in from the coast toward the mountains, moving from the south/southwest toward the north/northeast, which is left to right on this hole. The air is normal here, not like the coast, so your ball will carry normal distances and have decent roll. This par 5 is gettable for the long knockers, but for most, it will play as a decent three-shot hole. Target is down the FAT MIDDLE of the fairway — fairway bunkers and tree-lined edges punish errant drives on both sides. All players: the first swing of the day is a positional one — find the fairway. Long hitters: driver up the middle with a small fade for RH players. Mid handicap: 3-wood at the center if your driver is erratic; placement matters more than power this early. High handicap: 5/7-wood or hybrid down the middle if you do not have great confidence in your driver, again, it's a three-shot hole, might as well start in the fairway. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
