Here is a snippet from the Delaveaga CaddyTips®
Hole 1 - Sharp Dogleg Right - Play For Position
Lateral hazard right · OB left across road
Par 5 - 496 / 463 / 428 yds.
Tee Shot
A premium is placed on accuracy for this relatively short par 5. The mornings are calm and overcast here, but that burns off in the afternoon, and this hole will play downwind. It's wise to expect the ball to fly 3-5 yards less here, especially in the morning, with little roll. Play most yardages to the carry distance. Favor the LEFT HALF of the fairway—the right side slopes toward a LATERAL HAZARD lining the entire hole, and the LEFT is OB across the road. Because this is a relatively short par 5, a FAIRWAY WOOD/HYBRID/LONG IRON is recommended off the tee to avoid starting the round with a penalty. Long hitters: if reaching in two, the two large trees on the right corner of the dogleg sit 290 yds. from White. Mid/high handicap: 5/7 wood or hybrid up the left half — set up the 3-shot hole. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
