Here is a snippet from the Cog Hill Dubsdread CaddyTips®

Hole 1 - LONG, DOGLEG LEFT

Par 4 - 430/405 yds.

Tee Shot
Before you head to the first tee, CaddyTips® recommends checking out the hole location and green complexes on the 9th and 18th holes, which are near the clubhouse. The prevailing wind direction here in Chicago is midwest which means this hole normally plays into the wind. This hole doglegs sharply to the let around a cluster of fairway bunkers. The safest line off the tee will be center to right center fairway (just left of the bunker through the fairway on the right); shots hit on this line should be played to go no more than 260 yds. from the blue tees (235 yds. white). Long hitters: If you want to hit it further than this, you’ll need to aim a little further to the left. In addition to bringing the bunkers into play, shots hit too far left might be blocked out by the trees. Swing smoothly and find the fairway, a great start to a great round. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
