Here is a snippet from the Wolf Creek Golf Club CaddyTips®
Hole 1 - Spectacular First Drop
A sky-high opening tee to a three-level green
Par 5 - 579 / 504 / 467 yds.
THE INTRODUCTION — A MAJESTIC ELEVATION
Wolf Creek announces itself immediately: a
spectacular elevated opening tee, where your
ball flies 2-3 clubs farther than normal, down to a fairway carved into the canyon floor. A fitting overture to one of golf's most dramatic rounds —and a three-level green that demands a precise final number.
Tee Shot
Before you head to the first tee, CaddyTips® recommends checking out the hole location and green complexes on the 9th and 18th holes, which are near the clubhouse. The prevailing tailwind will help your ball carry even farther downhill. The air is dry and thin, and you are at 1,900 ft in elevation, so expect the ball to travel 3-5 yards farther than sea level. Expect your tee shot to travel 2-3 CLUBS farther than normal; aim center to right-center. Three bunkers guard the LEFT: the first 240 from the back (165 champions / 115 masters), the last 310 from the back (235 champions / 200 masters). All players: club well down for the huge drop and trust the carry; the left bunkers are the no-go side. CaddyTips® always recommends that the last couple of swings you take on the driving range should be practicing this tee shot and visualizing your success.
