General Tips to play Bayonet Golf Course

A good driver is a must here at Bayonet Golf Course. The course is long and every hole on this course is heavily lined by cypress trees. Accurate driving off the tee is a must or you will be faced with a lot of punch shots. The Bayonet Golf Course is very close to the ocean and wind will play a factor here. Work on a low ball flight, it will be useful here. The greens at Bayonet Golf Course are fairly large and feature steep slope with subtle undulations. Work on your lag putts and always take a look from both sides of the hole.

Here is a snippet from the Caddytips from Bayonet Golf Course:

    Hole 7
    Uphill – par 4 – 392/363/336 yds.

Tee shot: This shot will play ½ club uphill and should be targeted right down the middle on this straight par 4. The fairway is protected by one bunker to the right and shots going too far left will face a tricky second shot. Additionally, from the back tees the overhanging cypress trees make it challenging to play a left to right moving shot. The bunker on the right can be carried past with a shot of 255 yds. from the back tees(220 blue/200 white).

Approach shot: This shot will play ½-1 club uphill and is all carry to an elevated green. The hole is defended by a bunker short left and long. The green is 25 paces deep with a steep ridge creating a bowl on the front right corner of the putting surface.

Green: The front of the green slopes steeply from back to front and putts from above the hole will be very fast (especially coming down the ridge). The back of the green also slopes from back to front and a small mound on the right creates a general tilt from right to left.
