HOLE 1 - Stay Right Off the First Tee
The left side blocks you out — favor the right

PAR 4    446 / 402 / 360 yds.

Tee Shot
As you make your way to the first tee, CaddyTips® recommends taking a look at the 9th and 18th green near the clubhouse to check the pin location and take a snapshot of the greens in your mind. This will help you visualize your approach shots to these holes later in the round.

A fairly sharp dogleg left — you MUST stay right; left-side drives get blocked by the corner. The ideal line is slightly LEFT of the large tree on the right corner of the fairway. The fairway bunker through the corner is 270 yds from the Black tees.

All players: take dead aim just to the left of the right-corner tree. Long hitters: hold short of the 270 bunker and play to position over the corner. Mid handicap: 3-wood at the corner tree line is a high-percentage play. High handicap: play your most accurate club for the best odds on finishing in the right-center. The standard prevailing wind in the Scottsdale region blows from the southwest, so this tee shot will play downwind and may affect your club selection.
